All resins / woods turn amber in colour over time, but UV-Protection-Oil has been developed to preserve epoxy's clear colour and slow down the yellowing process by (UV factor) 12 times compared to untreated epoxy. Description Natural oil-based clear satin wood finish for outdoor use. The microporous surface allows the wood to breathe and reduces swelling and shrinkage. Water-repellent, will not crack, peel or flake. As top coat on already treated coloured wood, Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Extra significantly extends the intervals between each restoration. When used as a single product, with a two-coat application it prevents greying on vertical surfaces with a 12 UV-protection factor compared to untreated wood. Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Extra features active ingredients to protect the coating against the action of mould, algae and fungi. No need to sand before application, easy and smooth. During coating, the finish is still workable. Recommended use Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Extra is perfect for all vertical wood surfaces for outdoor use: doors, windows, window shutters (dimensionally stable parts), parking places, resin coatings, balconies, fences, pergolas, and holiday cottages (dimensionally unstable parts). Also suitable for bamboo poles (e.g. in screens). Ingredients Based on natural plant oils (sunflower oil, soybean oil, thistle oil and linseed oil), desiccants and additives. Storage Up to 5 years and longer if the can is stored in a dry place and hermetically sealed. If thickened by frost, store for 24-36 hours at room temperature before use. Surface preparation Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%). Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Extra is ready to use and should not be diluted. Stir well before use. If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation. Particularly oily timbers need to weather off (for approximately 6 weeks) after installation. Thereby the wood will gain more absorbent power and the finish will penetrate optimally. A coloured base coat is recommended, e.g. Osmo One Coat Only, Natural Oil Woodstain or Country Colour. For renovations, clean all old microporous wood finishes thoroughly. Freshen up greyed wood with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel before applying Osmo Clear Uv-Protection-Oil. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding. Do not sand smooth surfaces thinner than P120. The final result may be influenced by several factors, including the natural features of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always recommended, especially for unfamiliar timbers. If you wish to have additional protection against blue stains, decaying and insects, you should pre-treat the wood on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat. Do not apply below 5 C outdoor temperature. The higher the ambient temperature, the more effectively the material polymerizes. This means that resistance increases at higher temperatures. It is recommended to have a cloth ready for cleaning. In addition, care must be taken that the work surface is protected and can be cleaned directly if necessary. The surface should be slightly roughened, because only then is the epoxy adhesive guaranteed to bond well with the material. To do this, you can sand or file the surface. To spread the sticker, a piece of cardboard or plastic is useful. After use, clean the tube so that the lid does not stick, and then close it tightly. The thickness of the adhesive should be thin enough (0.1-0.2 mm), but if necessary it can be thicker. The parts to be glued must be clean and free of oil and grease. Apply the adhesive on one side and join and press the parts to be glued. The potlife is about 5 minutes, good endurance is achieved after about 10-12 minutes, and total endurance after about 24 hours. Pot life is limited in time and describes the maximum working time of the uncured adhesive. Once the pot life has passed, the adhesive not yet applied must not be further processed, but must be disposed of! Until the manual force is reached, the binding must be additionally fixed, for example, with the help of a vice, adhesive tape or clamp. In the case of heat-assisted polymerisation, the temperature resistance of the joined parts must be guaranteed. In addition, the heating and cooling times of the parts to be joined must be respected. This time must be added to the curing time of the adhesive. Tension can occur in the glued joint during heating and cooling. With materials such as PP, PE, PTFE or silicone, the parts need to be pretreated with our primer. The need for a primer depends on the surface tension. If this is high enough it can be tested with water droplets on the surface. If the drops adhere well to the surface, a good bond is most likely. If the drops slip away, a primer is probably needed.   Mixing There are several ways to mix the two components: - Mixing by hand - Use of a static mixing nozzle - Use of a dynamic mixing nozzle Hand mixing is sufficient in most cases. For this purpose, a toothpick or similar is used and the two components are mixed until a cloudy mass is formed. Make sure that no bubbles remain. When using a static mixing nozzle, the mixing of both components takes place inside the mixing nozzle so that the mixing is ideal. The first 2g should be discarded, given they are not yet mixed 1:1. However, the mixing nozzle can only be used until the adhesive in the mixing nozzle has dried. After that, you will need a new nozzle. W With a dynamic mixing nozzle, the speed of the mixer can be controlled electronically. This allows you to control the mixing intensity very precisely. However, this is intended for special industrial applications and is not necessary for everyday use. Harden The adhesive is chemically cured. This gives the advantage that gluing the surface is also possible, where adhesives that harden with moisture take a very long time. The bond is high strength and densely flexible. Thus, permanent resistance can be guaranteed in the event of shocks and vibrations. The use of the polymerised adhesive is also possible at high temperatures (up to about 120C), for a short time (30 min) up to 200C The polymerised adhesive has good resistance to physical (e.g. sunlight) or chemical (moisture, detergents, chemicals, etc.) influences. The great advantage of two-component epoxy adhesive is the fact that it hardens even under water and is robust. “1K NEXTCOLOR K300” top coat is the best product on the market within the category of one-component top coats, which are also known as 1K. Due to its unique physicochemical properties, “MACOTA K300” is particularly suitable as a polished finish for resins and wood. “MACOTA K300” stands out for its glossiness, its resistance to scratches and to almost all detergents (even the most aggressive), its non-yellowing and its UV resistance. Recommended for resins that do not contain phosphorescent pigment, wood and various types of surfaces. Its unique properties fulfil the requirements for the protection, the sanding and the polishing of resins that do not contain phosphorescent pigment, wood and various types of surfaces. Properties: Scratch-resistant protective finish; Prevents the yellowing of the resin UV-resistant Easy to apply; Reusable multiple times How to apply: The surface needs some rest two-three days before applying the lacquer, to avoid getting a wrinkled surface. Shake the can well before use so that the agitator ball can be heard rattling. Spray in smooth strokes from 15-30cm away. Coat the surface with a thin and even layer. Repeat the process 2-3 times for the maximum protection, allowing 15 minutes drying time between each coat. Storage - To prevent blockages, invert the can after use and spray for 2 seconds. This aerosol should be stored out of direct sunlight, in a cool well ventilated place. Consult the safety data sheet before use. The coverage is about 1-1.5 square meters. Warning: at first it develops a strong smell, which disappears once dried. Work in a ventilated area. How to apply:  During processing, use protective masks, gloves, and other protective clothing. About “Wood Stain" - a highly concentrated stain used for staining both old and new wooden surfaces: Use it to stain any type of wood for indoor or outdoor use. A highly concentrated wood stain that stains wood in one simple application. The formulation is water-based and so is safe to use in all environments, has a very low odour and is non-toxic. Wood Stain is specially formulated to evenly dye wood, ensuring equal and even colour penetration throughout. The stain dries to a natural matt finish in only 10 minutes and has excellent coverage. 1 Litre of Wood Stain will cover approximately 12m2  After staining wood, you should finish the job by sealing the stain in with one of Wood Waxes, Wood Varnishes or Wood Oils. These will enhance the colour of the stain further, provide additional protection and can be used to alter the finish to either satin or gloss. 💥Suitable for: You can use Wood Stain on any wood, just make sure it has been thoroughly cleaned and any old finishes removed.
